
BABA Bylaws Amendments – 2008

1. Executive Committee (EC):
(a) In the BABA-EC election, the General Body will elect only a complete panel of 3 members identified as President, Vice President and General Secretary. The election is for one panel against other panels. The candidates must come as a full panel of 3 members identified as President, Vice President and General Secretary. Unless a panel is complete, the nomination is not valid.
(b) The elected panel will select the remaining four Secretaries, identify all seven Secretarial portfolios, and inform the community members within two weeks of their election.
(c) No one can be President for more than two terms. Also no one can be President for two consecutive terms.
(d) The BABA-EC is recommended to give the tentative schedule of all the programs for the whole year within one month of their election.
2. Board of Trustees (BOT):
(a) BOT will have 7 members including the current BABA President. However the current BABA President can not be the Chairman, Vice-Chairman or Secretary of BOT.
(b) Two BOT members will be elected every year.
(c) If a BOT member resigns, the Chairman of BOT will appoint a person to fill the vacancy, only to serve up to the next election.
3. BABA Fund:
20% of the BABA EC fund balance at the end of the one year
term will go to the BOT account to be saved in the BOT reserve fund.
4. Election Commission:
The Election Commission will be selected by the EC (Executive Committee) and the EC will ensure that the Election is executed in an appropriate manner within the stipulated time period before the end of their term. However, if the EC fails to announce the Election Commission and an Election date within 45 days of the end of their tenure, then the BOT will take the responsibility to announce the Election Commission and hold the Election in an appropriate manner.
5. Website and e-Mails:
(a) The BABA Board of Trustees is responsible for the domain names, web hosting, payments and long term maintenance of the BABA websites: www.baba1.com and www.baba1.org.
(b) It is the joint responsibility of BABA Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee to make sure that the content of the BABA websites is in line with what BABA stands for as outlined in the BABA constitution.
(c) The Executive Committee will update the functional and operational aspects of BABA, such as Programs, Events, Announcements, etc. The BOT will be responsible for the long term items such as Constitution, Article of Incorporation, Links to other sites, etc.
(d) The Executive Committee (President or his/her representative) will administer the e-mail access. However, the BOT (Chair or his/her representative) will also have access.
6. e-Mail Forwarding Guidelines:
(a) BABA e-mail forwarding guidelines will be posted on the BABA website.
(b) BABA will be willing to forward other organizational e-mails as one forward per event, as long as it does not have any conflict with BABA constitution, and that particular program is not within two weeks of BABA program.
(c) Executive Committee will forward BOT e-mails about long term items on a priority basis, and EC will not unnecessarily withhold BOT e-mails from forwarding.
